Downtown Gem | Near Beale, Bars n Blues

Did not feel comfortable Positive: Beautiful studio apartment and has everything you need there. Very clean Negative: I work night shift. Housekeeping unlocked the door and walked in unannounced while I was sleep having it confused with another apartment. 4 days later maintenance unlocked my door and came in announced to change an air filter. I was asleep. Naked. Very uncomfortable. Contacted the property the second time and they made me feel like the problem. Not apologetic whatsoever. Left 1 days early from the fear of it happening again

Would not come back here Positive: It was super easy to get into the property. I had the building code and the door code when I arrived so it was easy to get in. The property management company was very prompt to reply back. Sometimes too prompt because multiple people would respond back at the same time. The apartment was the perfect size for my husband and I and located right where we needed it. That's where it ends at things that I liked. Negative: 1. The door wouldn't lock when we left. After some time, we found that the inside lock had to be in a certain position (which differed from what the property management company told us). 2. There was a cockroach in the bathroom 3. There was mold on the ceiling 4. The pillows were like rocks. I don't even know how pillows could be that hard. 5. Even when plugged in, one of the lamps in the bedroom didn't work I had asked if they had a different unit in the same area that we could get moved to and they didn't, which I understand. I then asked for 50% refund because mold, unsecure doors and cockroaches weren't on the property listing. When I woke up the next morning (we had one night left), I had a message saying if I moved out by 11am, they would give me a lesser refund. By the time I saw it in the morning, it gave me about an hour to search for places in the area to see if they were available. We had to put our morning plans on hold so I could search. We didn't have a car and needed to stay around the area and wasn't going to pay $300+ night, so I couldn't find anything. Trust me, I was trying! They initially came back saying "As you have decided to remain in the property through the originally scheduled checkout date, no refund will be processed." Then they came back and gave me a lower refund than I asked as a gesture of goodwill. I appreciated that but I felt the combination of all of those items should have been a higher refund.

I had an apartment at the back of the building- I was hoping for quiet. And it was. Great location. Comfortable bed & seating. Well stocked kitchen utensils but could use with a dish towel. They said there would be detergent for washing machine and there was not. Not the worst thing. Would choose to stay here again.

Location was fantastic! Property was very clean! Highly recommended!
